Action started on Saturday morning though there were a few feints from the enemy on Friday night.
Defenders of the Faith were steady and did not respond to the provocations. But Team Dramatique did manage to take the Defenders by surprise right out of the gate on Saturday morning, including taking a team member hostage. Team Defenders managed to recapture their man with their hidden back up team, and in the actual battle that followed, got close to capturing several flags; one stellar and honored long time champion did get through, but Saturday must be considered a win for the Dramatiques though the Defenders kept formation and camp was quiet on Saturday night, Sunday, the man held hostage felt able to return to the games though he was slightly wounded. The team geared up and went into the field determined; enemy spies and feints did not stop them from capturing several of those blue and purple flags. Dramatique picked up some points in the extra rounds, but the day did belong to the Defenders. Monday morning recap saw the Defenders making some crucial decisions for the next games, a new assistant coach is probably needed, and a few of the players needed minor medical attention, All in all, the Defenders made a good showing, and the battle must be considered theirs to lose next time. |
