some examples of fulfilled prophecy
Genesis 15 12And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. 13And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 15And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. 16But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. why was it actually 430 years? the time clock started with the birth of Isaac..the child of the promise.30 years from God making His covenant with Abraham. Yes, they were there 430 years, and took a great spoil out with them. Isaiah 45 28 who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, “Let it be rebuilt,” and of the temple, “Let its foundations be laid.. indeed, after 70 years of Babylonion captivity, Babylon was overthrown and Cyrus made the orders for rebuilding Jerusalem. Isaiah was written between 739 and 681 BC. Cyrus ruled from 559–530 BC. One story I have read is that Daniel presented a scroll of Isaiah to Cyrus..showed him the reference. how cool is that. Daniel 9 ;25 Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until the Messiah, the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of distress. 26Then after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and will have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations have been decreed. a week is 7 years. 62 weeks, from the time of the decree to rebuild Jerusalem is from Artaxerxes.( Temple rebuilt as well as the city) 444 BC. add your 62 weeks and you get 33 AD. of the line of David ( confirmed by Temple visit when Jesus was a month old...) Born in Bethlehem. (Micah 750-686 BC.) Micah 5:2 2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. SO, hundreds of years after some of these prophets lived, and exactly when expected, Jesus of Nazareth entered Jerusalem. And was cut off. If God's timing is so perfect, and his transmission to His prophets so perfect, what makes you think we are just winging it now? 27 percent of the Bible is prophecy. much fulfilled, some unfulfilled. If God's plan is for us to know future events ( to show His perfection, His Mercy, and His love) why do we avoid studying it? It's too hard. It has nothing to do with our current lives Isaiah 66;8 Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. 1948. within striking distance of many of you, as far as being in your lifetime. it is exactly one generation 70 years, this year, 2018.Israel became a nation in a day. The church is just going to make conditions so good on earth andJesus will come back when we are done. really? things look better to you? It's already fulfilled ( um, nope, much is not yet done) Jeremiah 17 9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. As true today as when Jeremiah wrote it. 7th into 6th century BC. Are we pharisees, sifting the chaff to find the least fault, instead of waiting on the promises of God? DO not ignore the prophecies. God meant for us to be informed, to be strengthened from knowing His word is true.It contains knowledge of all the heresies, and final apostasy, of those who call themselves christian. Stop being rocked by the bad news so common today. Hold tight to the cross. Maranatha! |
