You would think, with politicians and producers on the hook for illegal and ugly behavior, that some sense of unity.. us vs the elite.. would have emerged. That the lie of socialism, of liberal politics, would have shown itself as limited and divisive. The abused constituents of right wing politicians seem to have gotten a clue, I must say.
Instead, I have been gobsmacked by two issues that expose the ugliness, the absolute frozeness of heart and hatefulness of those who...whatever the politics, truly hate Christians to the core. We have a State Delegate who, in one of his campaign ads, laying out policy, has suggested that empty government buildings, including our local women's prison, closed for a while now, be rented out to community based groups as rehabs. Now, we have few rehab beds in Virginia, it takes quite a commitment of time money and effort. and doing paperwork for officials, to open a facility, and saving addicts is a hard and sometimes unrewarding enterprise. 90 percent of the responders thought the idea of a faith based ( don;t call it community based if it is Christian) help was so awful.. they might have to hear the name of Jesus! someone will preach to them! Better to die than hear a word of hope. Better to die than to allow the hypocrites to run a place of healing. If they are not willing to open a facility themselves, why do they care? If Catholics, for example, open a facility, does that mean only Catholics can go? Of course not. Is the emphasis on conversion, or on healing? You do know the answer, even if you don;t want to admit it. If our state government has proven inadequate to the task of helping addicts, who else will stand in the gap? One thing I have noticed is the progressive mindset thinks only government should provide answers to anything, and then they can enforce a secular only identity affirming rights first politically proper answer to whatever ails you. Meaning they can shut Christians down. As if food pantries don;t keep people fed, no questions asked about the client's belief system,as if Christian groups don;t go to devastated areas and help.. (check out a few of Samaritan's Purse's latest projects) sometimes much more speedily than official government help. As if the missionaries..doctors and nurses, who faced the Ebola crisis weren't by and large Christian. As an aside, in this anti-semitic climate, the help Israel gives to places and people in crisis is marvelous. There are secular crisis groups. Firemen and linemen, rescue groups (trained dogs) etc. I do have to ask if those that want to protest against evil Christians are involved in these groups either. On the heels of working my mind around the first assault.. a second one. Vice President Pence announced we would by pass the UN and directly aid Christians and minority groups in persecuted areas. There are groups already set up in those areas,, and the money and the go ahead from the government would help exponentially,The UN failed, the US efforts pretty much failed too. We did not understand the group dynamics, or that some refugees will not not tolerate those of differing faith or tribe. Our aid workers did not see Christians or Yazidi because they were run out of the camps. This directed aid effort should be a blessing, I think of those harmed by Boko Haram, the Chaldean Christians, the situation in Syria, Isis... Many commentators actually stated that evil hypocritical Christians do not deserve help. But they did it with such foul language, I refuse to repeat it. Some seemed to think it meant American Christians getting taxpayer money. Some questioned where the aid would go, with our travel restrictions. Well, those areas are also some of the areas with the greatest persecution. Some thought it should all go to the Palestinians because the evil Jews are so hateful. (As a matter of fact, we do, as a nation, give money to the Palestinians.) People are so triggered by the words faith based, christian etc they immediately and reflexively show their disdain for The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. The actual issue doesn't matter. And the entire group has been painted white male homophobic Islamophobic hateful ...liars and white nationalists and nazis, Paper cutouts to be knocked down. Not human. But "don;t judge us! Never judge us! " Truly if every man is his own law, all is lawlessness. Well, I have taken the punches on those names.. though I am no elite, nor male, nor hateful toward any group. Living as required by my faith does not imply harming anyone else. Just the right to live my life. But when you shake your fist at my God, I begin to worry, Almost 100,00 Christians die a year, persecuted by other groups. Half a billion or more face prison or persecution for their beliefs, in North Korea, China, the Middle East, Africa, the situation is grim. And these are not the only places. Here are some statistics for you http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/01/06/christians-most-persecuted-group-in-world-for-second-year-study.html The "Christians (and Jews) are evil" rhetoric, is beginning to gain real ground in the US and Canada. US Christians seem entirely unaware of the danger, either they think God won;t let them suffer, or that our government will keep this in check. Both ideas are entirely wrong. Is an American christian more precious than a Korean? Has our government attempted to reign in lawlessness in the last quarter century;in the last 50? They pass laws to appease smaller and smaller groups, while proclaiming moral neutrality. There is no such thing as moral neutrality. If so, theft and murder are not wrong, Lying is not wrong, rape is not wrong.. I could go on. You see the results of people and industries who seem to believe that is true, whatever they will, it is just fine. What the body of Christ seems to be missing, is, instead of a terrible trauma taking the US down, it may be that nothing bad is going to happen, the money will keep flowing and changes will keep occurring regardless of what we think, but neither are we going to see a huge revival sweeping the country. Maybe the US is the money maker and provider for the Beast Kingdom which is to come, easily giving in and still telling us we are the leaders of the world. Continuing the lies. New markets! New money!New jobs! Instead we of belief may find ourselves without jobs, or in jail, or even worse. This tipping point into lawlessness is exactly the sign spoken about in 2 Peter 2, Mathew 24 Romans 1.... Perhaps it is the fullness of sin, not the ever decreasing light and salt of Christians, which triggers the last days. Our date setters think God will give up his secrets... the timing of the last human kingdom, the timing of his promised protection from wrath, if they come up with a clever enough human answer. Instead of trusting, we flail and wail. We do not look much different than the lost, do we? Be in prayer, my fellow believers, DO all that is honest and good, seeking to bring others into the Kingdom of God, seeking to help the lost. Even so, come soon, Lord ! |
