I decided to actually look at definitions of social justice, as so much of what is said is so directly...unjust. It is supposed to simply be a newer term for civil rights.
Merrium-Webster 1. justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society: "individuality gives way to the struggle for social justice." See also civil rights. Well that sounds nice. Everyone has a fair shot. But here is what is assumed to require social justice...that people who have gathered money and power did it unjustly. In this way, the common good becomes an excuse for total state control. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can have nothing that no one else has, you cannot, by dint of creating something new, competing and winning on some level, achieve security/power/wealth, because it would immediately be shared with everyone else.This assumes state control of all business entities as well with no profit sharing to the management or owners. It assumes quotas. Social justice requires that every aspect of public life reflect every possible group so that no group is dominant.but what if you are third on the list but your quota is filled up? How is your loss to be addressed? This is part of what marred the last Winter Olympics; those who were self described minorities shouting loudly, while team after team failed. Without a drive for excellence instead of representation, the necessary mental discipline to achieve high goals... failed. Those involved in BLM and other groups, insist that a particular group must suffer, give up everything, and give it to (whatever group is claiming inequality) That's called revenge, not justice. Its called thinking small, a pie with only so many slices, instead of making a bigger pie. What did the Founding Fathers think? Government, in part exists to be a check on evil impulses. such as creating monopolies to unfairly make one market and higher prices, not paying workers fairly,harming a public source such as water or other shared resources. Abuse of persons including robbery rape and murder can be punished. As well, government must see to the common need of defense. So if we refuse to jail illegal immigrants or black men because we believe such incarceration is unfair, are we saying their victims have less worth than other victims? Granted, we have such skewed prison populations numbers now, restoring self worth and the ability to make a living must begin by releases, expunging records etc, Marijuana convictions are targeted with this. I can;t disagree.But the principle of one victim having less worth than another is evil . And here it comes.. but only white people had anything. then how did we have so many black Representatives, and one black Senator, in 1870? All from the South and all Republican. once slavery was no more, this group moved into the halls of power.That impetus was lost for almost a hundred years under Jim Crow laws, etc. The civil rights movement, in effect sought to right the ship of state and allow all citizens to seek a secure and peaceful life. How can you pursue happiness..not the current meaning of emotional giddiness, but a state of doing well, and feeling secure, if you must constantly give up any gain to everyone else? Does having a particular color of skin or the preferred way you use your genitals to achieve orgasm have anything to do with your level of education,ability to work while respecting your co workers.. and bosses.. or have anything to do with how you choose to spend the money you earn? Does scaring school children by being told if you are white, or male, you have privilege and should be ashamed, or that you might transform into the other sex at any moment, truly help create a more just society? or does it lead to more children who are fragile and uncertain with how to deal with the world? Can;t we just educate them? Our standings in the world for education are shabby. And in a country with such wealth and such need for highly trained workers, that is inexcusable. We have room for all in our trades, our universities, our businesses and in our government.Not preparing them to be successful adults is, frankly, evil. Do we stop Special ed because all children are the same and must learn the same way?Or do we return to keeping special needs children at home and away from the "teachable" children? Do we euthanize them because they cannot be of any use to the state? ( these ideas are real and are being discussed. Iceland is proud of having zero downs syndromes births) We have recruits who lack so much in strength and motor skills the training with grenades had to be stopped. They could not throw them far enough to be safe. We complain about our politicians, And yet only 1/3 of eligible voters vote on average.If we are to consent to government, how can we ignore a basic duty to said government? That;s right just agree to vote Democrat or Republican, they know better.Yup they know how to exploit their situation, have enough money to build walls to keep all those "equal" Americans out of their stuff. from freedom to being ruled by an elite class. One premise of a just society is that the majority will adhere to a basic morality. ( Don;t steal or harm or kill) Even that is questioned, as science and math classes are called racist. Gender is now considered a construct ( and no one is taking those racist science classes where they would quickly learn that sex has a biological purpose, is based on DNA, and that doesn't change with how you dress or take on a "role" ) It's just another example of lawlessness masquerading as social justice. What people want,apparently. is a guaranteed income, no work, devotion to whatever they consider pleasure 24/7 and no one to tell them they are wrong. Such a society cannot stand. Social justice assumes groups matter more than individuals, Yet it is individuals that go hungry, or work to be the best at one particular thing, who treat their neighbors kindly or with disdain. Individuals have to stand before God one day. the only group that we know of is Jews..Israel.. at the time of the Second Coming the entire nation ( a remnant actually) will accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. There is no salvation just by blood or race even for those Jews who reject Jesus. And we will have a just society, when He returns, not before. . |
