Like many of you, I woke up early on Election day, Bruce and I got dressed and went to the polling place. He needed to go before going to work, we were worried about long lines, but it was smoothly handled, quiet and respectful, and yes, I voted for Donald trump
Off to the Food Closet, after waiting with Jackson for mommie to go vote. Did I tell you the polling place is only a block away? Yeah, small towns are wonderful. The Food Closet was hopping, anyone who says the economy is wonderful, is not dealing with anyone who has no money, just lost a job, retired and social security doesn’t cut it, homeless…and our numbers go up, month by month year by year. I remember thinking, gee it’s quiet today. I prayed when I could focus on that, for all people voting and campaigning. Sometimes singing praise, sometimes crying. God knows my heart, he understands. Anyway, pleasantly tired, and not watching election stuff..because I believed the press reports and thought Clinton was a shoe in…and life goes on, grandson and dinners and clean clothes…we didn’t bother to switch the channel off Nick Jr until after 9 O’clock. We chose Fox simply because I thought the shrill vices of winning liberals would be too much to take, normally for election night we watch NBC or CNN, for the nifty graphics and boards. And even Fox commentators were grinning and talking about the wonderful Clinton campaign, how many states were blue, well we watch for the historical value of the moment, it’s ok,,,Bush/Gore I think we stuck it out til 2 Am or 4 AM to learn it would be recounts and courts…and nothing happened, no riots no attempted coups…America really is a fine bunch of people. Other elections have been decided pretty quickly… Then a string of red states across the south, then they said Florida was too close to call, Ok; we were in for a long night, surprise. And like ripe plums, the impossible states went to Trump. Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. Virginia for Clinton. We expected that. No coat tails on that, I don’t think a single Democrat unseated a republican in the House.(the only ads run in our local paper were for Governor McCauliffe’s positions on the union initiative and pro local Democrats, and I was pretty shocked. This is a conservative area. Why would a newspaper as small as ours do that? Well, now we know the extent of the biased reporting that has been happening for a while,, it has become clear, it is acknowledged, yet all the liberal media does now is point fingers at conservative media and say. You are worse, you are hate mongers. They have not learned their lesson yet, but any person with sense in the US now also knows they have become propaganda machines, not balanced, honest news reporting. When God insists you know the truth, it is wise to take notice!) We like so many others were now hooked in the drama. New York for Clinton, California for Clinton. Other states voted as usual except,, it was a lot more red than anyone thought. While the commentators said,,oh, it’s just a statistical thing,,,but the party got a whole lot quieter as commentators had spread out only to Democratic venues…yeah, they were that sure, they didn’t even look for Trump or RNC events to cover. I checked Facebook and my irrepressible conservative friends delivered. Gotta love them, they make me smile. I caught one post, and then I knew; a friend said, oh Lebanon is one of the uncounted districts in PA. The Amish, They really did it. They came out to vote. With PA also going red, it was a rapidly changing scenario on the TV. It got so bad, we had to get off Fox because the commentator was coming unhinged. Maybe he had too much coffee. The talking heads didn’t want to talk anymore! I think we went to NBC. They were screaming they couldn’t call it yet they wanted no charges of being wrong, Ok. Podesta sent everyone home, and still we waited. So yes, we watched the acceptance speech. Awed, overcome, Thanking God, because maybe we had a chance to still openly worship our God. That’s it, rebuilding the military, straightening out healthcare, dealing with immigration, and supporting Israel… important, but that freedom to worship was what we wanted. Wednesday it was also quiet …everyone was tired! I caught part of Hillary’s concession speech later. Then the war on social media, and the physical demonstrations and riots. The depth of hatred in this country is astounding, and it’s not crazy white KKK people. Students in meltdown. People on Facebook yelling at me, telling me Trump was Hitler, a dictator, sheesh. The worst of it came from outside the country, as in; they think we have lost our minds. America is still here we are big we have money and a military and a vote on various international bodies, The fact that you think it should always go as expected, is pretty stunning. Especially as this wasn’t the first pro national anti globalist vote. Some thoughts. The early voting was often very much in Secretary Clinton’s favor. However, the polls tightened before the Comey email announcement, so that’s not why she lost. Veterans voted in blue states,,,for Trump. The Amish voted..for Trump. Evangelicals and Catholics voted..for Trump. Many folks in traditional blue states simply did not vote for anyone for president at all. Orthodox Jews voted for Trump. People of minorities didn’t go to the polls much at all, but of those that did some voted for Trump. Women voted for Trump. It was enough. I don’t want to hear whining about the popular vote, popular vote guarantees California. New York and handful of other places always wins. You will have no voice at all in choosing your President. I don’t want to hear about the electors going rogue and choosing Clinton, It’s time to grow up and if you disagreed, get to work helping campaigns rebuild, cause right now, the only places Democrats control are California, New York and Massachusetts. That is astonishing, that is not a Trump victory that is the will of an entire country tired of big city liberals and Hollywood controlling the narrative. Do I think God was involved in all of this? Yes. We begged and pleaded and fasted for God to give us a chance. There is still a huge number of Christians in this country. We have laid down on the job, we have tried to appease and get along with the liberal agenda, we have declared ourselves too holy to get involved in politics. We have allowed ourselves to be called haters. We allowed the progressives to totally control the conversation. I think of the quiet of election day..and God was there. I think of all these various small groups that just exercised their right and responsibility to vote, without talking about it. The exit polls had Clinton way up, so I guess no one wanted to talk to those exit pollsters! Evan more, I think God blinded the eyes of those who watch, or the Clinton campaign would have been different the last week. Maybe they truly ran out of scandals to throw at him (most now disproved.) Pride goeth before a fall, after all. And Satan has no say on God’s timetable, though his rebellious and murderous spirit is currently expressed in the demonstrations around the country, Sorry, but it’s true. It does not mean the good times will roll, that the whole country will repent and turn to God, that world events or natural disasters or the Rapture will not turn the country over to the hands of that globalist elite. But for now we are still free to preach the Word of God, and bring enlightenment to the world through missionaries, and support Israel, the apple of God’s eye, the only democracy in the Middle East, and perhaps change education and other issues to get away from the hateful, dumbed down agenda now pushed by the government. For now, it is not a question about going to jail for being a believer, though that will come soon enough, for now we can dance and sing and praise, a right too many of us took for granted for too long. Let us enter in to this phase of government with eyes open, Bibles open and praises on our lips. Maranatha and hallelujah! |
